Jaeger-LeCoultre Taps Into Its Diving Heritage With Latest Polaris Mariner Line

Tapping into its diving heritage, Swiss luxury watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre has now launched a new line of dive watches under its Polaris series, aptly named Polaris Mariner.
At launch, the collection consists of two similar timepieces: the Memovox and the Date. The two are basically identical in construction, boasting 42mm stainless steel cases and bracelets that carry fumé blue dials invoking images of the ocean depths. A seconds track runs along an inner concentric ring, which works in tandem with the inner rotating dive bezel. Three numbered indices sit at 6, 9, and 12 o’clock while the 3 o’clock position is occupied by a clean date window.
The distinguishing factor between the two are the movements they carry: while both are self-winding, the Memovox is equipped with the in-house calibre 956AA, providing the added function of a “school bell” alarm, while the Date model is simply equipped with the calibre 899AB. Both watches are rated to 300 meters of water resistance.
