Gap Links With Four Artists For Black History Month Collaboration
Featuring four unique designs from creatives across the globe.
In support of the upcoming UK Black History Month this October, Gap has linked up with four upcoming black artists from across the globe to release a collection of collaborative and emotive T-shirts. Featuring creatives from the U.K., France and the U.S.A., each unique design represents what black history means to them from their life experiences.
Mario Hounkanrin, Melissa Hurst, Lo Williams and Stephennie Factor have all been creatives for a number of years and are now using their work to stand united in the face of adversity.
In addition to the collaboration, Gap UK is donating £10,000 (approximately $12,900 USD) to the CNBA Foundation who create opportunities in Media & Arts for 13-27 year olds in the BAME community. Gap customers will also be able to support The Reach Out Project through till point donations. Founded by friends Lillian and Michaela, The Reach Out Project helps combat the lack of social, cultural and enriching opportunities afforded to young people living in inner-city London. This is achieved through mentoring programmes focused on young Black individuals, with a mission to inspire young people to have higher career aspirations.
Gap’s UK Black History Month T-shirt collection is available now from the brand’s online UK webstore.
