New York-based artist Erik Foss is known for creating layered works spanning paintings and collages that reference pop culture subjects such as Mickey Mouse, the Ninja Turtles and more. In his practice, Foss incorporates these famous cartoons to evoke a sense of nostalgia or melancholia while shedding light on the dark side of pop culture and consumerism. The artist recently teamed up with Unique Board to release limited edition sculptures called Everyday Is Halloween that are based on recent drawings and airbrushed paintings of neon snakes and smiley figures.

“Imagined in collaboration with New York artist Erik Foss, ‘Everyday is Halloween’ gives form to a collision of iconography that has been with the artist since youth. Based on recent drawings and airbrushed paintings of neon snakes and smiley figures, the cartoon-like sculpture takes its name from a song by Ministry Erik used to DJ endlessly – as a means to work as an artist,” said Unique Board in a statement.

The series is comprised of black, white and airbrushed resin editions. Each variant is limited to 50 pieces and are priced at $400 USD each. To commemorate the collaboration, Unique Board is joining forces with NYC’s Padre Gallery to present a selection of the artist’s original airbrushed snake paintings. Head to Unique Board’s website for more information.
