adidas Originals Equips ZX 4000 With Italian Glow-In-the-Dark Snakeskin Leather
Ssssssstabilizing Torsion and retro branding also appear.
Slithering into this week’s roster of shoes is adidas Originals‘ latest pair of ZX 4000 sneakers, which despite their somewhat subtle aesthetic actually feature Italian glow-in-the-dark snakeskin leather uppers.
Indeed, laid on top of the “Orbit Grey/Dove Grey/Metal Grey” colorway is glow-in-the-dark coloring, which makes the snakeskin leather uppers shine in a dark green shade at night. The very light grey leather — which covers the toe, wraparound mid-panel, and rear-quarter insert — shines in an even more luminous shade of vivid green.
The darker sections of grey suede stay unlit, adding an element of color blocking to the shoe when it is worn in the dark. Transforming from a sleek, minimal sneaker to one that will be sure to steal all of the limelight is yet another strong move from adidas, and one that is indebted to the brand’s ZX heritage as the line often delivered shoes that threw a surprise or two when worn.
Aside from aesthetics, the ZX 4000 features a chunky off white sole unit that is packed with stabilizing Torsion inside, and is coupled with EVA cushioning. adidas branding on the tongue and heel, along with a Torsion-branded lace lock, round out this unique pair.
Take a look at the adidas Originals ZX 4000 in “Orbit Grey/Dove Grey/Metal Grey” above, and pick up the pair for yourself from stockists such as AFEW Store, where it retails for approximately $118 USD.
In other news, adidas has made some new adilette clogs.
