After partnering back in June 2019, Japanese street brands GOD SELECTION XXX and NUMBER (N)INE have rejoined for another graphic-rich joint effort. This time, the drop is more concise, encompassing two hoodies and two identical BE@BRRICK figures that all repurpose a classic N(N) pattern.

All the items sport a bold tribal camouflage-inspired pattern, updating the imagery used liberally in NUMBER (N)INE’s Fall/Winter 2004 show. Before Takahiro Miyashita relinquished the NUMBER (N)INE license, he subverted camo to underline his anti-war sentiments, creating dramatically warped shapes that differ from the copyright-skirting design that recently got Supreme in hot water.

Both hoodies sport GOD SELECTION XXX’s signature “XXX” branding inside a red chenille banner patch on the chest. Bold beige and muted black make for wholly different statements, with the tribal camo standing in stark contrast on the former and nearly blending in on the latter. A set of similarly-designed BE@RBRICK figures complement the wearables, with 100%- and 400%-sized collectibles each emblazoned with the beige colorway of the print, “NUMBER (N)XXX” text on the rear and GOD SELECTION XXX’s “Ain’t no fake. Ain’t no parody. This is f xxx ing ART.” printed on the left leg.

Relive NUMBER (N)INE’s FW04 runway above and expect the GOD SELECTION XXX goods to arrive on NUMBER (NINE’s web store, GOD SELECTION XXX’s website and each brand’s domestic boutiques on January 25. The hoodies weigh in at ¥35,200 JPY (approximately $320 USD) and the BE@RBRICK set is ¥17,600 JPY (approximately $160 USD)

Most recently, Medicom Toy introduced BE@RBRICKs emblazoned with Andy Warhol’s Marilyn Monroe prints.
