Rowing Blazers Taps Lands' End for Colorful Capsule Collection
Celebrating the brands’ history with rugby.
After BEAMS Plus joined Rowing Blazers for a yacht club-inspired capsule collection earlier this summer, Rowing Blazers returns with a new collaborative capsule. This time, the New York-based label taps American heritage brand Lands’ End for a limited-edition line, featuring American-made rugby shirts and weekend bags.
In the late 1980s, Lands’ End created and designed the official jersey for the USA Eagles rugby team. As the official blazer supplier to the USA men’s and women’s rugby teams, Rowing Blazers builds on Lands’ End legacy by highlighting both brands’ history with the sport in a new collection. The capsule’s rugby shirt comes in a playful color-block design, transforming a classic silhouette into an edgier, streetwear look. Constructed like Lands’ End Seagoing Duffles in the ’70s, the weekend bags take on a similar color-block pattern with an adjustable shoulder strap and snap-close handle wrap.
Jack Carlson, the founder of Rowing Blazers, commented on the new collaboration:
“Rowing Blazers and Lands’ End might seem at first blush to be at opposite ends of the spectrum. Lands’ End is based in Dodgeville, Wisconsin and pioneered the American catalogue; Rowing Blazers is based in SoHo and in some ways has more in common with streetwear brands. But I’ve always loved Lands’ End, and there’s a lot of very meaningful shared DNA. Lands’ End began as a sailing and yacht supply company; Rowing Blazers began as a supplier and outfitter for rowing clubs. There’s a shared passion of the stories behind products; a real love for color, simplicity, and meaning. Perhaps most importantly, the rugby shirt has become a key category for both brands.”
The Lands’ End x Rowing Blazers capsule collection is available now on rowingblazers.com, landsend.com and at the Rowing Blazers Clubhouse in New York.
