Reese LaFlare Breaks Down the Inspiration Behind His Style

“Style is a mood.”

Atlanta rapper and YSL affiliate Reese LaFlare isn’t one to haphazardly dress himself. “Style is a mood,” says LaFlare — and it’s evident in his ever-changing look. His love for clothing lives on a spectrum, spanning from past decades into the contemporary. His status as one of the city’s cognoscenti of fashion is a result of being a product of the city. “[Atlanta] pushes me to keep living larger and going bigger and bigger every time,” he says.

After pulling up to his crib in East Atlanta, the rapper heads into his closet for an impromptu “drip check.” He took HYPEBEAST inside to show off a collection of his most prized possessions, like a YSL chain, while detailing the importance of having a rotation of white AF1s — a must-have for staying fresh. It’s clear that he keeps a vast arsenal at hand, catering to occasions where he feels like keeping things minimal with a white tee and denim or for when he wants to go luxe and lavish.

After leaving his home, LaFlare heads to his favorite boutique, A Ma Maniére. Inside, he shows off his vast knowledge of brands and is even greeted by peer and fellow rapper, Key!. Copping a new pair of skate shoes was essential before a quick session on Peters Street. The kicks aren’t only a flex-worthy purchase, they also showcase his multifaceted, larger-than-life style, which is a combination of his love for skate, fashion and music.

Check out the above video, made in collaboration with Magnum Large Size Condoms, to see how Reese LaFlare goes big when it comes to style.
