Megan Thee Stallion Has Trademarked "Hot Girl Summer"
Along with “Hot Girl Semester” and “Hot Nerd Sh*t.”

Megan Thee Stallion has just revealed that she has successfully trademarked her viral “Hot Girl Summer” phrase. As one of the biggest tracks this summer — garnering tens of millions of streams and video plays — the phrase has also been prevalent through social media platforms.
When asked what pushed her to make the phrase official, she mentions that after seeing companies like Wendy’s and Forever 21 making marketing use out of her intellectual property is when she really took the need to trademark the phrase urgently. She followed with, “Hell no, Forever 21, you’re going to have to pay me.”
“Hot Girl Summer” is now registered on the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office database by Theory Entertainment LLC, along with other phrases such as “Hot Girl Semester” and “Hot Nerd Sh*t.”
