adidas Revisits '80s Torsion System Campaign With ZX 4000 4D "I Want I Can"

adidas is continuing its progressive ZX 4000 4D line with the release of the “I Want I Can” edition. The “I Want I Can” slogan is taken from an adidas campaign from the ’80s that was used to launch the ZX footwear series’ Torsion System, and more recently featured on the ZX Flux in 2015.

The sneaker’s predominantly white primeknit upper is offset by a light green 4D sole unit, which is made from digitally-printed light, oxygen and liquid resin to deliver controlled energy return. “I Want I Can” branding has been added in blue and orange over the white upper across the lateral side, using the same taped material that is used for the Three Stripe motif. It blends into the design, sitting inbetween overlaying suede panels seen on the forefoot, rear-quarter and eyestay.

The same orange and blue colorway is used for the tongue tab, which reworks the traditional adidas Trefoil logo in the new pastel hues. Orange and blue are finally used to highlight the embroidered line on the heel tab. Final finishing touches include ZX 4000 4D branding etched into the medial rear-quarter support, lime green accents on the black outsole and a contrasting grey primeknit section seen on the medial forefoot.

You can pick up a pair of the adidas ZX 4000 4D “I Want I Can” from retailers such as 43einhalb for €299.95 EUR (approx. $330 USD) on September 14.
