Pro Skateboarder Mitchie Brusco Lands World's First 1260 at X Games
During the Big Air competition.
Professional skateboarder Mitchie Brusco has made history during last week’s 2019 Summer X Games in Minneapolis — when he landed the first-ever 1260 during a competition. The trick was part of his routine during the Big Air competition at event, and for those unfamiliar, the 1260 is one whole revolution more than Tony Hawk‘s iconic 900 in 1999, also during the X Games. In fact, the skateboard legend himself took to Twitter to praise Brusco, saying that his trick has left Hawk “speechless.”
Unfortunately, despite achieving a historic feat, Brusco had only scored 89.66 for the trick, and ended up coming second for the competition, short of Elliot Sloan’s gold-winning indy 720 over the gap into a tailgrab 900, which earned him a score of 91.66. For those interested in attending the event next year, the 2020 Summer X Games will be held at the US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis once again from July 16-19.
