Logic Opens up About Expecting a New Child on "No Pressure Freestyle"
A rework of a Pharcyde and J Dilla classic.
Towards the beginning of this month, Logic reconnected with Gucci Mane for the official music video in support of their Confessions of a Dangerous Mind collaboration “Icy.” Now, the popular Maryland rapper is taking on a Pharcyde and J Dilla classic for “No Pressure Freestyle.” Notably, “No Pressure Freestyle” is a rework of Pharcyde and J Dilla’s legendary 1995 Labcabincalifornia single ”Runnin,” and contains personal bars about Logic’s next child and references to Ice Cube, Nas’ Illmatic LP, JAY-Z, his forthcoming tour with YBN Cordae and J.I.D and more.
“I wear this 24 karat solid gold rollie for my son as an heirloom / Not for lookin’ dope as I rhyme / As a representation to give your family your time,” Logic spits on “No Pressure Freestyle.” “Searchin’ for love in the industry you’ll be let down / They don’t love you ’til you dead and then they call you profound / That’s the truth / I’m close to the cliff, like Rick Dalton in the booth / Money ain’t the key to happiness and this the proof / Modern day rappers like a golden era spoof.”
