J. Cole, EarthGang, Smino & Saba Debut New Video for "Sacrifices"
One of the highlights of Dreamville’s ‘Revenge of the Dreamers 3’ LP.
One month after the release of Dreamville Records’ Revenge of the Dreamers 3 group-album, J. Cole, EarthGang, Smino and Saba are teaming up to deliver a video for one of the project’s highlights, “Sacrifices.” Put together by directors Scott Lazer, Chad Tennie and David Peters, today’s clip for “Sacrifices” serves as the first official music video for a Revenge of the Dreamers 3 song.
“It was like Disneyland or some shit,” J. Cole says of the recording sessions that birthed Revenge of the Dreamers 3 records like “Sacrifices.” The 34-year-old rapper opened up about the aforementioned full-length’s creative process during a recent interview with GQ, sharing anecdotes about collaborating with Compton artist Buddy and revealing how the making of the Dreamville crew’s new LP sparked a positive shift in his demeanor.
“I ran in, the room was thick with smoke, and Buddy, this rapper from Compton, played me this song that felt like a Pharcyde song,” J. Cole recalled. “I’ve been so secluded within myself that people think I don’t like anybody, that I won’t work with anybody. It’s a reputation that’s been extending to my artists, too … I don’t even know how this shit works all the way anymore, the game. And if I don’t know, I’ve got to learn.”
