Benny the Butcher Drops New Video for "Took the Money to the Plug's House"
A highlight of his most recent project.
Earlier this month, Benny the Butcher linked up with Otto the Director to create the official music video for “5 to 50.” Now, continuing to support his recent The Plugs I Met EP, the Griselda affiliate is teaming up with director Condido Verona for the vignette for “Took the Money to the Plug’s House.”
“The video depicts my transition from being incarcerated and separated everyday to what is important to me, to now being very visible and on a very large platform where fans rap along with my songs word for word—and I feel that energy during my shows,” Benny the Butcher told Complex, opening up about his latest visual.
“I bring you to Montana Ave; the block where I am from and illustrate my lifestyle,” Benny the Butcher shared with us when asked about the creative direction of his music videos.
“I’m from a legendary hood in Buffalo, Montana Ave, legendary hood,” Benny the Butcher previously explained to us, breaking down his back-story. “It’s birthed a lot of millionaires, hustlers, shit like that, just all the drug sales on the block. Just seeing that, that turned me and my ni*&as into go-getters. I was inspired by go-getters and I was watching them move and how they inspired people and I wanted to be that. Only thing is I learned how to do it outside the dope game also.”
