Vans’ latest re-imagination of its most classic silhouettes opts for a more rustic aesthetic, dressing three of its iconic shoes in workwear fabric. Alongside the fotwear, the brand has also incorporated a limited-edition capsule of apparel comprised of elevated coats, pants and accessories that pay homage to Mount Vernon Mills, the last remaining denim mill in the U.S.

Titled the “Mt. Vernon” collection, the pack features the Sk8-Hi, Era, and Slip-On, all reconstructed using a hickory striped denim reminiscent of the uniforms found on railroad or car shop workers. Staying true to its origin, the Sk8-Hi takes the vintage textile and pairs it with solid navy panels, along with a leather Jazz Stripe extending down its lateral. The Era and Slip-On both take a similar approach, with a darker shade of denim occupying the front of the shoe over the toe, whilst the latter half comes dressed in a more distressed, lighter shade, all the while retaining the contrasting white striped pattern. All three silhouettes come ready with a clean white sole, with the Sk8-Hi and Era models being paired with equally fresh white laces.

As for apparel, Vans offers up a heavy-duty Pro-built Drill Chore Coat that’s printed with the same classic railroad stripe. It’s complimented with utility pants and a matching hat for a head-to-toe look.

For those interested, the Vans “Mt. Vernon” triple pack is now available at select Vans retailers including FEATURE, with prices starting at $70 USD for the Slip-Ons and the Era, and $80 USD for the Sk8-Hi.

Elsewhere in sneakers, Nike has dropped a range of Daybreaks in metallic and pastel colorways.
