Stüssy and Cactus Plant Flea Market Unite for Patriotic July 4 Capsule Collab
Dover Street Market LA hosts the graphic tees, vintage jeans and bold water shorts.
First seen on No Vacancy Inn’s Tremaine Emory, we now have an official look at Stüssy and Cactus Plant Flea Market‘s collaborative summer drop. Encompassing a wide array of summer-friendly bottoms and graphic shirts, the collaboration is a seasonal twist on CPFM’s signature puff-print imagery.
Keeping in line with Stüssy’s celebratory July 4 events, the capsule is set to launch at a special Dover Street Market event, an appropriately jovial setting for the sunny graphics provided by Cactus Plant Flea Market. The label’s doubled-up smiley faces and penchant for chaotic graphic design informs a short- and long-sleeved T-shirt, each offering distinct imagery. The former sports Rasta flag colors, plenty of Stüssy logos, a cartoon rat and inverted CPFM branding. Meanwhile, its long-sleeved counterpart boasts “PROUD TO BE FREE” & “PROUD TO BE ME” verbiage alongside an American flag and loads of text on the rear.
Accompanying the layering pieces is a selection of upcycled vintage Stüssy jeans, each hand-painted with the American flag’s Stars and Stripes imagery on the front and CPFM text on the back of the right leg. A series of colorful Stüssy Water Shorts rounds out the offering, retaining the painted shapes and occasional contrasting colors seen on the jeans, layered atop the original Stüssy logo on the left leg.
RSVP for Stüssy and Cactus Plant Flea Market’s July 4 event at Dover Street Market LA’s website, with the collection going live on Stüssy’s website the same day. Limited pairs of reworked denim and shorts are exclusive to DSMLA, however.
Most recently, Stüssy’s New York Chapter staff modeled the label’s Summer ‘19 goods for GRIND.
