Bandulu's Paint-Splatted Nike Kyrie 5 Releases This Weekend (UPDATE)
Iterated by artist Pat Peltier.

UPDATE [Aug 16, 2019]: Nike recently released new photos of the Nike Kyrie 5 set to release this Saturday, August 17 on nike.com and at in-store Nike Basketball locations. The sneaker showcases artist Pat ‘Bandulu’ Peltier’s unique style of hand-sewn paint splatters as he transforms the sneaker for NBA player Kyrie Irving.
ORIGINAL STORY [Jul 18, 2019]: Shortly after unveiling its Kyrie 5 “Spongebob Squarepants” and “Patrick Star” iterations, Nike has returned with its latest rendition in collaboration with Bandulu Street Couture.
The sneaker has been decorated by artist Pat Peltier, using the Kyrie 5 silhouette as the canvas for vibrant embroidery that bears the shape of paint splatters. Palettes of red, olive, beige, lavender and blue are placed sporadically around the uppers and toe cap, culminating in an artful expression of colors. At the top of the tongue is “Bandulu” branding, coming in a light green shade that also covers the inner neoprene collars. Mesh fabric lines the creamy beige uppers, contrasted with a firm lace cage etched with “Kyrie” and “Irving” on each respective foot. Hits of navy, green and brown paint drip over a white Swoosh on the lateral side, contrasted with a purple check on the medial. Other details like its red outsole and stark co-branding at the heel top off the footwear piece.
The Bandulu Street Couture x Nike Kyrie 5 PE “Light Ivory/Dark Orchid” is currently available on nike.com for $145 USD.
