INSA Adds "High Heels Fetish" Graffiti to G-SHOCK's DW-5600 Watch
The British artist will also showcase works at the G-SHOCK store in London.
British street artist INSA and G-SHOCK have come together for the release of an artwork-covered DW-5600 watch. The artist is most known for his “Graffiti Fetish” pattern and has had his works held in the Victoria & Albert collection and presented at Tate Britain.
For the collaborative timepiece, the duo has covered a classic white G-SHOCK in a pink and black rendition of the “High Heels Fetish” print, which sees curving lines and color-blocking develop a leaf-like aesthetic. It is a commemorative piece which celebrates the last 15 years of INSA’s “Graffiti Fetish” work.
Releasing as part of the G-CREATIVE program, the collaboration will also see G-SHOCK’s Carnaby Street store in London get an INSA-land makeover, showcasing works designed by the graffiti artist that will make up a gallery for customers to experience. The watch features all of the standard G-SHOCK add-ons such as 200-meter water resistance, an electro-luminescent backlight, shock resistance and more. It’s also notable for being the first watch to change G-SHOCK’s design language back in 1987; and now it returns for 2019 in yet another bold, artistic makeover.
The INSA x G-SHOCK DW-5600MW-7INSA will be limited to just 190 pieces worldwide and will be sold exclusively at the brand’s Carnaby Street store and online starting July 19, priced at £119 GBP (approx. $148 USD).
