Fear of God ESSENTIALS Debuts New Sub-Labels and Footwear for Fall 2019
Premium craft and plenty of new accessories.

Fear of God‘s fan-favorite ESSENTIALS line is receiving some major tweaks. Conceived as an accessible complement to the mainline collection, ESSENTIALS’ appeal stems from its comparably lower pricepoints and approachable silhouettes — the Fall 2019 collection sees the imprint taking its design ethos a step beyond its recent drops, delivering goods in two distinct collections.
One of the new sub-labels, the “Fashion” collection, scratches that luxury itch Fear of God is known for, with plush pigment washes and tonal branding embroidered atop the selection’s short-sleeved hoodies, athletic shorts and sweatpants. All items are executed in versatile shades, including washed black, heather grey, taupe and “Vintage Lemonade,” informing the garments with an extra dimension of versatility. Returning staples include oversized T-shirts and hoodies.
Its counterpart, the “Core” collection, stays true to ESSENTIALS’ effortless appeal with daily drivers like nylon windbreakers, volley shorts and coaches jackets sporting more overt logos, realized in bold 3M. Hues like white, faded black, cream and dark heather grey inform the Core items, which all serve as natural counterparts to the Fashion pieces.
Outside of the two sub-labels, Fall 2019’s ESSENTIALS drop includes various accessories, including messenger bags, backpacks, duffles and socks. The most notable accessory, however, may be the two new footwear styles: the Vintage and Backless Runners, intentionally retaining some similarities to mainline Fear of God shoes.
Expect the latest ESSENTIALS deliveries to hit stores in late July and early September, with the Vintage Runner and Backless Runner dropping close to late October for $295 USD apiece. Stockists for the new drops include UNITED ARROWS, Nordstrom, Selfridges, Isetan and IT, all of which are in-store only; the online stockists are Pacsun and SSENSE.
Most recently, Fear of God teamed up with New Era for a collaborative 59FIFTY hat.
