Louis Vuitton Named China's Top Luxury Brand in 2019
According to Gartner L2’s annual report.

Following its colorful Spring/Sumer 2020 showing during Paris Fashion Week, Louis Vuitton has topped the list of luxury brands dominating the Chinese market.
According to a new report from Gartner L2, the French heritage house came out on top despite the ongoing trade war against the US, which many believed would hinder the spending of Chinese shoppers. LV was able to beat out competitors with its e-commerce and digital performance, along with leveraging Chinese ambassadors such as Kris Wu to promote its items. The luxury house even utilized the streetwear “drop” model on WeChat by releasing the Virgil Abloh-designed sneakers via a pop-up like app.
After building up its WeChat functionality, Bulgari took the second spot. It’s online access now allows customers to check physical store inventory and pick up online orders in-store. Celebrities Kris Wu, singer Jolin Tsai and actress Shu Qi have been brand ambassadors for the fine jewelery company. Rounding out the top three is Cartier and its use of WeChat ads. In fact one of Cartier’s WeChat Moments ad was among the 10 most popular in 2018.
