Watch Kojey Radical's Stunning Dance Therapy Visual for "Can't Go Back"
The rapper also announced a series of intimate live performances.
East London rapper and spoken word artist Kojey Radical has dropped the music video for his latest track “Can’t Go Back.” He also announced an intimate show in London later this month.
The video for “Can’t Go Back” was directed by Kojey Radical and Charlie Di Placido — who has previously worked with XL Recordings and shot the Kojey Radical’s “Footsteps” visual, which was nominated the MOBOs 2016 for video of the year.
Kojey Radical describes the visuals as “a return to form for me. When I went through the darkest parts of my depression I used dance as a sort of healing therapy I wanted to reflect the joy of losing your self in a moment and letting everything go. It’s taking things all the way back to the basics to begin again and free yourself from past trauma.”
Shot in an abandoned, light-flooded warehouse, Kojey and his dancers throw themselves around the room, interacting with instruments and the space around them in order to rid themselves of bad energy and find empowerment in the lyrics of “Can’t Go Back.” The track is taken from the rapper’s third full-length body of work that is expected to drop later this year.
Radical also announced that he will be hosting a series of shows this year. Titled For You, the pop-up’s inaugural show will be free and take place atat Hoxton Bar + Grill on 25 June. Catch Kojey Radical at upcoming festivals such as We Out Here and watch the visuals for “Can’t Go Back” above.
