Jacquemus Visits South of France for SS20 “Le Coup de Soleil”
A Swarovski collaboration joins relaxed tailoring and elevated workwear.
Jacquemus has presented its Spring/Summer 2020 collection in the South of France, showcasing a class of colorful fits alongside an upcoming Swarovski collaboration.
Simon Porte Jacquemus held his “Le Coup de Soleil” show in a lavender field in Valensole, serving a collection that took inspiration from the rural countryside that often drives Jacquemus’ designs. The event told a story that is unique to the brand, highlighting its roots and its playful energy as models walk down a bright pink runway.
A number of looks from Jacquemus’ SS20 collection included of workwear influence, seen in pieces such as the oversized white poncho, the peach-colored daffodil-covered chore jacket, the soft blue dyed utility jeans and the blue flowery zip-up jacket.
Some of the most notable pieces included its relaxed take on tailoring seen via the green blazer and light grey suit, as well as the lineup of shirts. There was also a Swarovski collaboration on show in honor of Jacquemus’ tenth anniversary. Pieces from the collaboration include a crystal mesh polo shirt and number of crystal-embellished women’s heels.
Simon said in a press release, “These exceptional Swarovski pieces reinforce the image of fantastical characters, too sophisticated for their context. In this setting, their radiance is a departure from the codes we expect to see in a Jacquemus show. And yet, they correspond to the artisanal spirit at the heart of the house.” Take a look at all the menswear looks from the Jacquemus Spring/Summer 2020 “Le Coup de Soleil” runway show in the gallery above.
