Fans have been waiting for Toronto Raptors forward Kawhi Leonard‘s signature New Balance sneaker to receive a proper release, especially with all the buzz around NB returning to the court. On May 7, New Balance unexpectedly launched the sought-after silhouette as part of a 2-piece pack, selling out of both styles immediately.

Both Leonard’s signature OMN1S and a matching 997 Sport dropped online, prompting a swift sell-out of the “Kawhi 2-Way” pack, so-named for Leonard’s intense on- and off-court presence. The 997S — a new style of 997 launching for Summer 2019 — delivers premium black leather uppers, abetted by hits of gold leather, a blue lace lock and white midsole. Black laces reinforce the slick motif above, with an icy blue outsole for a clean finish.

“K” branding on the 997S’ tongue matches the logo on the tall OMN1s sneaker, also bolstered by hits of gold across the upper. The shiny lace loops sit atop a cool-hued knit, complete with a stretchy strap that keeps the wearer’s foot in place. Black leather and mesh near the ankle aid the white midsole in grounding the hefty shoe, which is completed with black “NB” branding set into its translucent outsole.

Stay tuned for New Balance to deliver more of Leonard’s signature OMN1S silhouette on its dedicated Basketball site. If you missed out, both shoes from the “2-Way Pack” are both available on StockX, currently with asking prices above retail.

Most recently, New Balance introduced a Liverpool-indebted Fresh Foam LAZR v2.
