Following an exclusive closer look, we are now learning about how Nike is planning to release the highly anticipated Cactus Plant Flea Market x Air VaporMax 2019.
According to Nike, unlike the early pairs seen on social media, the general release iteration of the collaboration will not feature LED lights. The light up models seen on social media are limited to 25 pairs only and personally gifted by Cynthia Lu to F&F.
Previewed on Air Max Day 2019, the Cactus Plant Flea Market collaboration is centered around the setting sun and adds touches of color to the future-forward Nike Air VaporMax 2019. The lightweight stretch textile and synthetic upper is decorated with 3D puff lettering, stitched taping, playful smiley faces at the heel and tacked on midfoot Swooshes made of garden wiring. Thick rope laces threaded through the eyelets peeking out from the midfoot cage skews the sport technical look of the new Air Max model.
Finally, elevating the shoe is red/green segmented a VaporMax Air sole unit which replicates the meteorological optical phenomena of green flash — when hints of green are briefly visible above the rim of the Sun’s disk just after sunset or right before sunrise.
There will be four chances to get your hands on the Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike Air VaporMax 2019, starting with a limited release at Dover Street Market NYC to commemorate Frieze followed by a global launch May 14 on Nike SNKRS/SNEAKRS and select NikeLab retail locations. The official CPFM site will also see a release at an undisclosed date, with a final drop event at DSM London May 16.
