adidas Skateboarding Honors Daewon Song with New 3MC Collaboration
The classic skate shoe is revamped for Spring 2019.

adidas Skateboarding is teaming up with legendary professional skater Daewon Song for a new spin on a classic skate-shoe silhouette; specifically, the pairing are coming together for a Spring 2019 iteration of the famed adidas 3MC.
Delivered in a striking navy colorway, adidas Skateboarding and Daewon Song’s minimalist-minded 3MC features a luxe suede exterior, a well-constructed checkered weave design, a lightweight and all-new adiprene sockliner and a limber, supportive Geoflex outsole created for comfort and control when you’re on and off your board. This jointly-produced sneaker’s release will coincide with the debut of adidas Skateboarding and Transworld Skateboarding’s feature-length, Joseph Pease-directed Daewon Song documentary DAEWON, which will premiere at a special event in Los Angeles this Sunday, May 12; the film will give viewers an unprecedented exploration of its subject’s career, legacy and personal life, as well as a thorough examination of the incredible influence he had on other notable figures in his craft.
“Skateboarding would not be the same without him,” DAEWON director Joseph Pease recently explained in an official press statement, reflecting on his time as the architect of the DAEWON project and sharing his thoughts on the decorated pro-skateboarding veteran’s storied run.
You can take a look at adidas Skateboarding and Daewon Song’s new 3MC above, while the collaboration will hit the shelves of select adidas retailers and the official Skateboarding website on Thursday, May 9; the sneaker will retail for $70 USD. Previous 3MC collaborations include last month’s joint drop with Truth Never Told.
