James Blake & Rosalia Reconnect for New "Barefoot in the Park" Video

Two months after the release of the music video for “Mile High,” James Blake revisits his most recent and fourth studio album, Assume Form, for another new visual. This time around, the award-winning singer-songwriter highlights his Assume Form collaboration with Rosalia for a new vignette in support of “Barefoot in the Park.” Notably, James Blake and Rosalia’s “Barefoot in the Park” video comes to us courtesy of directors Diana Kunst and Mau Morgo — two names you may recognize from similar shoots for A$AP Rocky, FKA twigs and previous Rosalia visuals. For James Blake and Rosalia’s roles in the “Barefoot in the Park” piece, the two artists play the parts of “characters whose fates are intertwined.”

“They’ve all so intelligently and sensitively slotted themselves in to whichever track, where they felt part of this world,” Blake previously told Exclaim, opening up about Assume Form collaborators like Rosalia. ”It feels good to say that it’s like a group enterprise, this album, rather than just a James Blake record in the sense of old.”

“I wanted to, for this record at least, get away from covering up what I’m saying with too much metaphor,” Blake added, elaborating on the artistic motivations behind his recent body of work. “I wanted to try and say the thing I mean, which is hard. It’s scary to do that sometimes. I think the fear kept me from doing that before.”
