The first weekend of the 2019 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is currently underway and taking this opportunity to pay tribute to some fallen artists were both Anderson .Paak and Jaden Smith.
During .Paak’s Friday night set, the Californian artist performed his Mac Miller-assisted single “Dang!” whilst telling the crowd “One hand in the air for my brother, I miss him so much, Mac Miller. One hand in the air for my brother, Nipsey Hussle!”
On the other-hand, Smith used his performance to shoutout Hussle, saying “We just lost a legendary person, an amazing man, a legendary MC, so I want to use this time here up on stage on Coachella to just say R.I.P Nipsey Hussle. We love you.” During his set, Smith also brought out Jordyn Woods and his sister Willow.
Mac Miller passed away on September 7, 2018 from a reported overdose while Nipsey Hussle was fatally shot on March 31, 2019. Watch the tributes below.
In related news, Kendrick Lamar penned a personal letter for Nipsey Hussle’s “Celebration of Life” memorial service.
