Y-3's New KASABARU Sneaker Perfectly Blends Minimalism & Functionality
A hybrid, retro-inspired basketball silhouette for discerning sneakerheads.
Y-3 continues its run of avant-garde sneakers with the KASABARU silhouette for Spring/Summer 2019.
The KASABARU modernizes the heritage adidas Trimm Trab, accentuating its ’70s sole unit with exaggerated grooves — which were previously soft indents in the midsole — and gives the Trimm Trab’s large midsole branding and lace locking system a contemporary update.
The Yohji Yamamoto-designed sneaker fuses the classic Trimm Trab design with adidas’ 1970s basketball shoes, creating a minimalist high-top packed with today’s latest sneaker innovations. Constructed from light-weight nylon uppers and a Japanese rubber sole, the KASABARU offers a courtside look without any of the performance limitations.
The high-tops also come with 360° elastic rubber lacing tubes, allowing the shoe to develop to the wearer’s foot and offer the best performance when being used. Finished with a leather tongue featuring the Y-3 logo and leather heel lining, the Y-3 KASABARU will be available from February 28 at Y-3 flagship stores, Y-3.com, and select retailers worldwide in both “Core Black/White” and “White/Core Black,” priced at $350 USD.
