Guillermo del Toro Teases His 'Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark' Adaptation
A new spin on the anthology series of horror tales for children.

Despite low viewership, Super Bowl LIII offered an array of looks at this year’s most anticipated movies. Dipping into the scarier side of things, CBS Films took advantage of the big game and aired four teasers for its adaptation of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark.
Produced and developed by Guillermo del Toro and directed by Trollhunter’s André Øvredal, the upcoming film is a take on the iconic anthology series of horror tales for children. The short clips reveal the sense of horror expressed in the shorts – The Pale Lady, Red Spot, Jangly Man and Big Toe. Connecting the separate stories is a plot surrounding a group of kids in a small town dealing with all the scares surrounding them.
Check out the teasers below and look for Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark to hit theatres August 9.
