McDonald's Roasts Balenciaga Over French Fry Carton Looking Shoe
“If we get 103,042 likes we release these for real.”

Last summer luxury fashion house Balenciaga debuted a pair of shoes that many fans believed took inspiration from McDonald’s signature red fry cartons. After going viral on social media, the fast food giant has finally taken aim at the Demna Gvasalia-helmed label.
In a recent post by McDonald’s Sweden, the Golden Arches poke fun at the red, square-toed leather mules by showcasing the French fry cartons being worn as makeshift slip-on shoes. “If we get 103042 likes we release these for real,” the caption translates to. So far the post has only garnered just under 14,500 likes. Check out the post below and like if you want to support the cause. The “McBalenciagas” can still be purchased at select retailers for $740 USD.
Fans of the label should check out Balenciaga: Winter 18 which was written by the label’s lauded creative designer. The 304-page love letter to the luxury house features never-before-seen imagery from Pierre-Ange Carlotti and Johnny Dufort including backstage shots and a look at the label’s Winter 2018 Ready-to-Wear collection. Housed in a neon-colored graffiti hardcover, the book can be purchased now via Rizzoli’s web store for $95 USD.
For more on the label, Balenciaga’s Summer 2019 campaign is an absurd Matrix homage.
