'Rick and Morty' & Pringles Concoct New Pickle Rick Flavor
“Come on, flip the pickle, Morty. You’re not gonna regret it.”

In a new partnership with cult series Rick and Morty, Pringles is bringing back Pickle Rick, engineering a new flavor based on the infamous character. Pickle Rick comes from the third episode of season three, where Rick Sanchez turns himself into a pickle in order to avoid attending a family therapy session his daughter scheduled. The episode follows Rick’s adventures as a talking pickle, who fights through hell only to return to his normal state and end up in therapy.
Packaging for the new Pringles flavor will come in a dark green color and feature Pickle Rick’s face at the front, while the rest of the can will resemble the character’s body. Pringles’ logo will be set above Pickle Rick’s quirky expression, followed by “Rick And Morty” and “Special Edition” branding stamped below. On top of the snack’s release, there’s also a chance Pickle Rick might be returning in cartoon-form: Pringles has planned for a 30-second ad in the second quarter of Super Bowl 2020, where Rick and Morty will be fully worked in. “We want to do something completely new for the brand for the 2020 Big Game and are thrilled to be partnering with Adult Swim and Rick and Morty,” said Gareth Maguire, Senior Marketing Director for Pringles. “We hope the new special edition Pickle Rick flavor will be a hit with the show’s fans.” According to Jill King, Senior Vice President and Marketing and Partnerships for Adult Swim, the Rick and Morty creators are making “a hilarious spot for the Big Game,” while the company is “extending this partnership in really exciting ways, all year long.”
Official dates for the new flavor have yet to be revealed, but fans can expect the limited release to hit shelves in February, close to the time of the upcoming Super Bowl.
