The bond between Allen Iverson and the city of Philadelphia was made unbreakable by a shared fighting spirit, and now that pugnacious ethos is serving as inspiration for Reebok‘s Question Mid “Heart Over Hype.” With a campaign centered around new Philadelphia 76ers guard Josh Richardson, the “Heart Over Hype” combines a bold colorway with meaningful storytelling, making for a product that’s fit for the City of Brotherly Love.

Uppers are dressed in an energetic red hue, and constructed of a soft tumbled leather. The large tongue offers a material contrast with its breathable mesh, Reebok branding is debossed throughout and a black patent leather toe cap adds just enough flair. Down below, a red midsole with visible DMX cushioning completes the signature Question look.

The shoe’s launch is accompanied by a short film that shows Richardson familiarizing himself with the places and faces of his new town. He chills at famed cheesesteak spot Tony Luke’s, chats with the urban horse riders of Fletcher Street, and chops it up with the city’s famed dirt bike riders, a tight-knit community that boasts alums like Meek Mill.

“There are so many unmistakable traits that define the city and the people of Philadelphia like hard work, resilience and grit,” said Richardson when discussing his new hometown. “This is a city that shows so much heart, just like [Allen] Iverson, and it’s an honor to play here and call it home.”

The first silhouette from the “Heart of Hustle” series, a collection that will highlight specific aspects of Allen Iverson’s personal life, the Reebok Question Mid “Heart Over Hype” will release on December 23 at Reebok.com. The MSRP is set at $150 USD.

Elsewhere in the world of hoop shoes, it’s all about the cash on LeBron James‘s new Nike LeBron 17 “Currency.”
