Miu Miu & M/M Paris to Launch Customizable Stool for Design Miami 2019
Furniture is turned into a game — or piece of art.
As Art Basel Miami and Design Miami/ take off, Miu Miu and M/M Paris have created a special limited-edition furniture project for the Italian brand’s Miami Design District boutique. The whimsical M/Marbles Stool is an elevated version of the first series, the M/Matching Colorstool, that launched at Salone del Mobile during Milan Design Week earlier this year.
Constructed from palm wood and crepe rubber, the M/Marbles Stool is punctured with perforations up and down its three legs. Like a board game or puzzle, hand-blown Murano glass pegs can be inserted into the stool to make up various patterns or designs. The color-dotted stool pushes furniture into the realm of customization, personalization and play, turning a household object into a transformative art work or installation piece of its own.
