INVINCIBLE, WACKO MARIA and Converse Link Up For Camo & Leopard Print Chuck 70s
The three-headed collaboration is centered around bold patterns, and accompanied by a selection of apparel.
Taiwanese boutique INVINCIBLE, Japanese clothing brand WACKO MARIA and American footwear purveyor Converse have teamed up for a three-headed collaboration consisting of high and low-top takes on the Chuck Taylor All Star 70. Blending camouflage graphics with animal prints, both shoes provide a vivid look that’s decidedly in line with the ethos of each collaborative party.
WACKO MARIA is well-known for its copious use of bold animal print — the brand last teamed with Converse for a leopard Chuck Taylor in 2018 — so that each pair features the alpha predator’s familiar rosettes should come as little surprise. Both of these safari-themed embellishments are printed with a special reactive dye technique and arrive on top of a dual-color camouflage pattern. The High opts for a desert-style mix of golden-yellow and brown that further plays up its leopard theme, while the Low goes for a palette that’s more woodland than Sahara, choosing a combination of traditional olive and brown. Both are rounded off by a high-gloss eggshell white toe cap and midsole that’s accented by black piping and a black heel badge.
To accompany the footwear options, WACKO MARIA has also created an apparel collection with a fatigue jacket, its signature Hawaiian shirts, a hoodie and tees. Each piece features prints and graphics engineered to match the footwear.
“Invincible and WACKO MARIA are longtime partners who both love Converse” says WACKO MARIA co-founder Atsuhiko Mori. “This partnership was meant to be and collectively taps into what each of these brands represent in street style.”
The INVINCIBLE x WACKO MARIA x Converse Chuck 70 collection will release at retailers like Allike on December 14 with an MSRP of €110 EUR (approximately $122 USD) for the High and €100 EUR (approximately $111 USD) for the Low.
That’s not the only collaboration Converse has on the way: it recently teamed up with A$AP Nast for a two-pack of flame-printed takes on the Jack Purcell Mid.
