Sean Wotherspoon & Dior Men's Thibo Dissect the Air Jordan 1 "Dior"
Showcasing the entirety of the shoe’s opulent details.
Following the unveiling of Dior and Jordan Brand’s highly-anticipated Air Jordan 1 High OG “Dior” last week, Sean Wotherspoon and Dior Men’s head footwear designer Thibo recently sat down to discuss the story behind the collaboration as well as the craftsmanship and details incorporated into the shoe.
Thibo begins by discussing the process of wanting to make a Jordan shoe in Italy, the first since the Air Jordan 2 was briefly manufactured in the country in 1986. They further dive into the artisanal craftsmanship involved in constructing the shoe — from thick calf-leather reminiscent of Maison Dior’s leather goods to the Dior Oblique jacquard pattern that runs throughout the enlarged Swoosh and nylon tongue, every detail is dissected. Thibo even reveals the footbed debossed with Dior Oblique beneath the insole, which has been crafted in a natural calf-leather, to showcasing the Dior branded lace tips, discussing the “Air Dior” logo, and more.
