adidas' New Pack Is Inspired by Iconic 'Star Wars' Starships
Including the “X-Wing Starfighter,” “Millennium Falcon” and “Death Star.”
Last week, The Mandalorian made its highly-anticipated debut with the launch of Disney+. Following the heightened Star Wars fandom that arose over the endearing nature of Baby Yoda, adidas has officially announced a Star Wars space battle-themed pack in collaboration with LucasFilm. Inspired by three starships in the Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire, the capsule collection celebrates the most revered elements of Star Wars. For adidas’ second time collaborating with the production company, it is updating three models: the UltraBOOST S&L, UltraBOOST 19 and Alphaedge 4D.
The first sneaker to lead the pack is the UltraBOOST S&L, which is inspired by the X-Wing Starfighter. Leaked earlier this week, the sneaker is adorned with graphics of the starship on its BOOST sole unit, while its “Sesame/Active Orange/Carbon” colorway pays tribute to the ship’s gray and orange artillery and outer shell. The shoe is finished off with glow-in-the-dark elements, semi-shiny engineered mesh and metallic stripes. Each heel tab is printed with iconic quotes from the film, including “Stay on Target” and “The Force Will Be With You, Always.”
The UltraBOOST 19 immortalizes yet another starship. Inspired by the Millennium Falcon, the silhouette is updated with a matte metallic cage and yarn makeup. Similar to its UltraBOOST S&L counterpart, the style is emblazoned with important phrases such as “Jump to Lightspeed” and “Never Tell Me the Odds.” Rounding out the pack is the Alphaedge 4D shoe which pays tribute to the film’s most notorious space station, The Death Star. Dosed in a laser green and black colorway, the sneaker features a 3D printed 4D midsole and illuminative detailing. This time, the heel tabs read “That’s No Moon” and “The Power of the Dark Side.”
