BFC Fashion Awards 2019 Announces Emerging British Talent, This Year's Best Brands & More
The nominees include Kim Jones, Kiko Kostadinov, Martine Rose and more.

The British Fashion Council has announced its nominees for the Fashion Awards 2019 across all categories, spanning everything from British Designer of the Year to British Emerging Talent for both menswear and womenswear.
In consideration for brand of the year includes the likes of Gucci, Prada and Jacquemus. Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michele is also being touted for Accessories Designer of the Year and Designer of the Year, with Simon Porte Jacquemus, Kim Jones and J.W. Anderson for Loewe also competing for the latter.
Others such as Craig Green, Kim Jones, Martine Rose and Riccardo Tisci are up for British Designer of the Year Menswear. The Fashion Awards 2019 enlisted 2,500 key members of the fashion industry to put forward their nominations, which results in five brands and names in each category becoming shortlisted for their respective awards. The BFC also celebrates 100 of the most innovative and inspiring young creative talent from around the world as part of the NEW WAVE: Creatives initiative, which spans every medium from creative direction to set design and digital influencers.
Through the BFC’s fundraising initiatives — such as the Fashion Awards 2019 and other charitable events — money is raised to support education, business and mentoring schemes that work with talent ranging from aspiring students to emerging designers, fashion start-ups and established brands. In keeping with its affirmation for young designers, the Fashion Awards 2019 also highlights the likes of Ben Cottrell and Matthew Dainty for Cottweiler, Kiko Kostadinov for his eponymous label, Sofia Prantera for Aries and Bethany Williams — also for her namesake brand — for the British Emerging Talent Menswear award.
Winners of each category will be announced at The Fashion Awards 2019 on December 2. A full list of awards and nominees can be found below.
