Update: Woodstock Will Return as a Three-Day Festival This Summer For its 50th Anniversary
The event will be at the original playing site and feature a mix of performances

Update: In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, co-founder Michael Lang said that for Woodstock’s 50th Anniversary, the event will be a three-day festival at the original playing grounds in Watkins Glen, New York on August 16–18, 2019.
As far as talent, Lang says that it be a diverse mix of new and old acts. “It’ll be hip-hop and rock and some pop and some of the legacy bands from the original festival,” Lang said. “We’re also looking for unique collaborations, maybe some reunions and a lot of new and up-and-coming talent.”
Lang also stated that activism will be a major theme throughout the festival and they will have tight security throughout the weekend.

Dubbed “Bethel Woods Music and Culture Festival: Celebrating the golden anniversary at the historic site of the 1969 Woodstock festival,” the aforementioned event will reportedly feature a variety of live music acts and “TED-style talks.”
“This pan-generational music, culture and community event will be held at BWCA just 90 minutes from New York City. These three days of memorable experiences will include live performances from prominent and emerging artists spanning multiple genres and decades, and TED-style talks from leading futurists and retro-tech experts,” reads a quote from the official announcement. “Festival goers will also be able to visit the Museum at Bethel Woods, which tells the story of the 1960’s through immersive media, interactive engagements, and artifacts from the 1969 festival, as well as experience the special 2019 exhibit ‘We Are Golden: Reflections on the 50th Anniversary of the Woodstock Festival and Aspirations for an Aquarian Future.’”
“Entertainment villages,” “bespoke performance areas” and more will be available for the forthcoming Bethel Woods Music and Culture Festival experience. The lineup has yet to be revealed, although the information is set to surface soon. “Bethel Woods Music and Culture Festival: Celebrating the golden anniversary at the historic site of the 1969 Woodstock festival” is scheduled to take place from August 16-18, 2019 in Bethel, New York.
