Mariano Rivera Elected to MLB Hall of Fame with First Ever Unanimous Vote
Mo will be inducted alongside Edgar Martinez, Mike Mussina and the late Roy Halladay.

Arguably the best closer in MLB history, New York Yankees‘ own Mariano Rivera is on his way to Cooperstown after earning a first ballot induction to the Hall of Fame.
On January 22, Rivera tallied all 425 out of 425 ballots by the Baseball Writers Association of America (BBWAA), becoming the first unanimous vote ever, beating out Ken Griffey Jr.’s 99.3% in 2016. Rivera joins the likes of HOF-ers Cal Ripken Jr., Randy Johnson, Tom Seaver and a few others as a part of the 97% club, but again, Mo sits alone in the 100% group.
This year’s MLB Hall of Fame class will also include Edgar Martinez, Mike Mussina and the late Roy Halladay. In other sports news, Carmelo Anthony is headed to the Chicago Bulls to become a free agent once again.
