Sampha, Ibeyi & More Join Forces for Everything Is Recorded's "Mountains of Gold"
The follow-up to the XL Recordings founder’s debut project.
Earlier this year, XL Recordings owner and founder Richard Russell dropped his debut studio project under the Everything Is Recorded moniker. Known as Close But Not Quite, the seven-track EP featured high-profile collaborations with talented artists like Sampha, Giggs and others. Now, Richard Russell has followed up his very first multi-track offering as Everything Is Recorded with a huge new joint single.
Dubbed “Mountains of Gold,” Everything Is Recorded’s latest record features show-stealing contributions from past collaborator Sampha, Ibeyi, Wiki and Kamasi Washington. Built upon a flip of a popular Grace Jones sample, “Mountains of Gold” is a seamless blend of hard-hitting soul and heavy, boom-bap-esque grooves.
Debuted via its official video and a single stream, you can check out Everything Is Recorded, Sampha, Ibeyi, Wiki and Kamasi Washington’s new collaborative cut “Mountains of Gold” above; check out the audio-only version below.
Late last month, Wiki dropped his first official album as a solo artist, No Mountains in Manhattan.
