Following rumors of One Direction‘s disbanding in March, reports are surfacing that Sony Music is currently pursuing Harry Styles for a massive solo deal, according to The Sun. Through its ownership of Simon Cowell’s Syco label, of which One Direction is signed to, Sony plans to infiltrate the group’s frontman and turn him into a breakout solo act. If the deal is to be made, Styles will battle the new RCA signee Zayn Malik, whose new album will be out sometime in 2016, for the spotlight as a former One Direction member ahead of Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson.
