Aesop Recruits Design Students for Accessories Capsule
Focusing on wash bags and diffusers.
For its latest accessories capsule, Australian skincare label Aesop recruited design students from ÉCAL University in Switzerland. 17 graduates from the university’s Advanced Studies in Design for Luxury and Craftmanship course were asked to design two accessories that would complement Aesop’s other offering: an electric essential oil burner and a wash bag. The products were also required to be aesthetically pleasing, sustainable and inventive.
Overall, 20 projects were chosen including the “Ventyl” diffuser which was inspired by utilitarian laboratory tools and the Pillow wash bag which took cues from classic down jackets. The pieces were all exhibited at Aesop’s Zurich store earlier this year, but keep an eye out for them to drop worldwide in the future.
In other design news, IKEA recently collaborated with Per B. Sundberg.
