A First Look Inside Gosha Rubchinskiy's OKTYABR Store in Moscow
Described by the designer as “a meeting point for the community, to connect all the skaters.”
With Gosha Rubchinskiy revealing his latest Rassvet collection recently, the Russian designer has now given a first look inside the brand’s new store. Named OKTYABR, after the Okytyabrskaya subway station where Moscow skaters often meet, the store will stock Rassvet collections alongside pieces from other skate labels including Fucking Awesome, Dime, Awake NY, Stüssy, Carhartt and Absurd Skateboards, a line founded by Rassvet co-founder Tolia Titaev.
Speaking to WWD, Rubchinskiy described his role as similar to “art director” of the project, and explained that OKTYABR was intended to be “not only a store, but also a meeting point for the community, to connect all the skaters.” Similarly, Titaev revealed that he “always wanted to do something for Russian skateboarding, I wanted to tell the world that the Russian scene is strong and our youth is buzzing and willing to do things.”
Take a first look inside OKTYABR above, the store opened its doors on July 28 to coincide with the release of the most recent Rassvet collection.
