Met Gala 2018 has arrived with another star-studded red carpet lineup. This year, guests dressed to the theme of “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination,” paying homage to the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute’s new exhibit of the same name curated by Andrew Bolton. Channeling the church, the biggest stars in fashion, music, entertainment and art put on their ”Sunday Best” for the first Monday of May, donning avant-garde outfits abound with religious iconography, crosses, headpieces and drama.

Here are some red carpet highlights: Event co-host Rihanna stole the show with a Maison Margiela Artisanal beaded number and headpiece, Bella Hadid stunned in an all-black Chrome Hearts Official ensemble, Virgil Abloh debuted a new Louis Vuitton Atelier suit, a very pregnant Cardi B impressed in Moschino, and Zendaya channeled Joan of Arc in a Versace suit of armor. Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman killed the theme in an embellished ivory Versace suit and cape, Solange rocked a halo and du-rag with her sculptural glossy black gown by Iris Van Herpen, Game of ThronesEmilia Clarke looked regal in a gilded Dolce & Gabbana piece, and Luka Sabbat looked sharp in an H&M bathrobe.

Music’s biggest names also pulled through with Migos and SZA wearing Versace, Donald Glover and Lana Del Rey (accompanied by Alessandro Michele and Jared Leto) in Gucci, Nicki Minaj in a bold red Oscar de la Renta gown, and Wiz Khalifa in Dior Homme. This year was also a big one for couples as we saw 2 Chainz propose to Kesha Ward, Travis Scott make his red carpet couple debut with Kylie Jenner wearing Alexander Wang, and Pharrell Williams and Helen Lasichanh making an appearance in Chanel.

Take a look a some of the best outfits from the Met Gala 2018 above and let us know which was your favorite in the comments below. Also make sure to take an exclusive look at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” exhibition.
