Foot Locker Is Searching for Rising Artists for NYC Gallery Show

Creatives on the come-up understand what it means to be chasing after that first bite of success. Foot Locker has personified this hunger with its new exclusives, dubbed the Nike Tuned Air “Before the Bite” and “After the Bite.” Bringing the ethos and the namesake to life, the sneaker stockist is seeking out twenty emerging artists who could potentially be featured in a gallery show in SoHo with an esteemed group of virtuosos: 13th WitnessBaron Von Fancy and MADSTEEZ.

With the consortium as the contest’s judges, the evaluation will be based on three categories: originality of artwork, creativity and ability to make it “after the bite.” Featuring two ways to enter, contestants may submit digital-only entries from the US and Canada online from April 10 – April 14 at 12 p.m. EDT or bring in all forms of art in person to 67 Greene Street on April 15 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. EDT for a chance to be chosen to make their mark. In conjunction, the retailer has partnered with rising-rapper LGP Qua, whose own grind symbolizes the sneakers’ DNA.
