COMME des GARÇONS works with a selection of stockists outside of its own stores and Dover Street Market outlets, but the label is joining Nordstrom for a brand new retail opportunity. For the first time in its history, the storied Japanese house is introducing an outpost that stocks its full array of menswear.
Led by VP of Creative Projects at Nordstrom, Olivia Kim (formerly of Opening Ceremony), the Nordstrom Men’s NYC store will soon open with a section dedicated entirely to the world of COMME des GARÇONS, aiming to provide an accessible entry point into the brand. Goods vary from complete runway looks to affordable accessories and fragrances, with representation from every COMME des GARÇONS menswear line including HOMME Plus, HOMME DEUX, Shirt, Shirt BOYS, Shirt FOREVER and, of course, PLAY, along with select pieces by Russian wunderkind Gosha Rubchinskiy.
Designed Marc Hundley, the COMME des GARÇONS section aims to evoke the streets of New York City with accoutrement including trash cans, posters, phone boots and mailboxes. Take a look inside the Nordstrom NYC Men’s store above before its doors open on April 12.
