It's Official: A Cash Money Biopic is Coming
This has some serious potential.

Here’s some great news for the Cash Money diehards out there. As FADER reports, Cash Money Records co-owners Birdman and Slim revealed that they were hard at work cooking up a script for a biopic based on the journey of Cash Money Records. Birdman cited Dr. Dre and Ice Cube’s Straight Outta Compton project as part of the inspiration for the effort, stating:
“For them to do that and to make it trendsetting, they opened doors for us, and I think that what we have is way more special because we’re in modern times.”
Slim later added:
There’s a lot of things that people don’t know that we went through, things that happened behind the scenes of the company, things that happened before we were with Universal. So we got a lot of stories, but the way I’m putting it together is gonna be great.
The pair originally revealed this news at a joint guest appearance at Brooklyn Law School. You can listen to the original announcement below. Following the success of Straight Outta Compton, do you believe more films based on hip-hop’s history should be produced?
