10 Drops You Don't Want to Miss This Week

Supreme x Nike x NBA collab isn’t alone.
By · in Fashion

The star of this week’s drops roundup is the Supreme x Nike x NBA collaboration, which debuted just a few days ago with Cleveland Cavalier J.R. Smith donning the NBA logo-mania gear. Expect the emblazoned Teams Authentic basketball jerseys, shorts, warm-up jackets and Air Force 1 Mids to dominate the streetwear scene and rack up resell values in the following week, but don’t let them distract from the other Supreme release highlights, which include a Bogo water bottle and aluminum ballpoint pen as well as the return of the 2007 Gonz Logo pieces designed by Mark Gonzales.

Speaking of The Gonz, the OG skateboard legend also teamed up with Dickies Japan on a capsule of graphic-centric goods featuring original sketches. Another illustration-rich release is the Warren Lotas “VEGAS” capsule that pays homage to Nevada’s iconic hotel-casinos, and keeping with the eye-candy theme, Lacoste‘s special edition endangered animals logo polo shirts and Burberry‘s rainbow capsule collection both look back into each respective label’s rich iconography.

On the monochromatic side, we have offerings from Stone Island‘s Spring/Summer 2018 “Ghost” capsule, Kiko Kostadinov‘s Spring/Summer 2018 collection drop, and The North Face Urban Exploration Tyvek Aluminum line for something shinier. The tech-wear category sees C2H4‘s futuristic “ZERO GRAVITY” collection, which is inspired by what chemists traveling to Mars in 2082 would wear, as well as the Junya Watanabe MAN x The North Face hybrid backpack-jackets.

Burberry Rainbow Capsule Collection

Burberry embraces its heritage with a youthful rainbow collection of reissued pieces focusing on a new rainbow check print and an archival “The Burberry’s” logo. This capsule marks a new direction set by Christopher Bailey in his final season as the label’s CCO. The British label’s iconic check pattern is seen on several streetwear-inspired silhouettes — such as towelling sweatshirts, jersey sweatpants, bucket hats and baseball caps — and revamped heritage classics, namely the Garbadine trench coat and Harrington jacket. Also be sure to check out the collection’s interactive lookbook.

Bulgarian designer Kiko Kostadinov‘s Spring/Summer 2018 collection has hit the shelves. The ready-to-wear menswear collection takes cues from traditional uniforms and workwear, sporting a color palette consisting of dark monochrome hues and neon lime green. Notable pieces include the burgundy cross front coat, the color block Charriere pullovers and shirts, as well as any of the lime green garments. Kiko Kostadinov also teamed up with ASICS on a collaborative sneaker model that hits the dad shoe trend, even though the designer says he “[doesn't] even know what dad shoe means.”

C2H4 delivered the second drop of its “ZERO GRAVITY” collection for Spring/Summer 2018. The military- and space suit-inspired gear features functional detailing and materials. Highlight pieces include the boxy reconstructed sleeve hoodie with “gear” pockets, the utility M-65 jacket with a concealed hood and detachable waist bag, the Ozone Generator pullover that features a mini cross-body bag, and the side strap track pants.

Lacoste “Save Our Species” Polo Collection

Lacoste swapped out its iconic embroidered crocodile logo on the chest area of its polo shirts for a series of the Earth’s most endangered animals for the label’s “Save Our Species” initiative. The special edition logo patches focus on around 10 threatened species — including the Anegada Ground iguana, Sumatran tiger, California condor, Soala and Cao Vit Gibbon — and are produced in limited numbers representing each critter’s population sizes. The Lacoste green crocodile is still on the shirt nonetheless, just at the back. Profits fro the “Save Our Species” collaboration will go towards the IUCN efforts to protect endangered animals.
