Crookers featuring Steed Lord - Transilvania (Episode 9 of The Weird Girls Project)

Crookers and Steed Lord have teamed up for “Transilvania” – the 9th installment of The Icelandic Weird Girls Project. The visual is well conceptualized and thoroughly conducted. In case you wonder, What is The Weird Girls Project?, here’s a detailed description.

The Weird Girls of Reykjavík is a collective created and headed by concept artist Kitty Von-Sometime. It evolves episode by episode and the members mix between those involved from the beginning and new members increasing with every event. The ages range from 18 to 34 years and the girls all live in or have close connections with Iceland.
Each episode is planned by Kitty for approximately three months with the members knowing as little as is possible about the event outside of the date. This includes the location and the costumes. As standard there will be a photo shoot and they are aware they will be filmed. The main element of the project is ‘reaction to the unknown’.
Media is produced from each episode but the project focus is the event performance itself and how the girls react and morph within costume. None of the girls are professional actresses or models and part of the inspiration was to encourage a gain in self confidence within young women.
Thus far the project has birthed 8 Episodes, all producing both photographic and video media in addition to the event itself. These have begun in a very naive style with little to no experience and have matured throughout the life of the project.
For each episode Kitty draws in the talents of different photographers, costume makers and film makers to bring the concept to life.
