For this week’s music roundup, HYPEBEAST curates a list of releases by some of our favorite artists. Kendrick Lamar’s executive produced Black Panther soundtrack hit the internet and included impressive tracks from Travis Scott, James Blake, Future, Anderson .Paak and The Weeknd, amongst many others. Drake also became a trending topic this week after he made an appearance on a track with up-and-coming rapper Blockboy JB just a day after donated roughly dropping $175K USD to various charities and causes in Miami while he was out there shooting a video for “God’s Plan.” In addition, we saw the worlds of Rae Sremmurd and Metro Boomin collide once again for another potential hit off the much anticipated SremmLife 3 project.

We would also like to pay our respects to rap pioneer Lovebug Starski who was widely known for inventing the term “hip-hop.” He tragically passed away this week at the age of 57 in Las Vegas after a sudden heart attack. Rest in Peace, Lovebug Starski.

After teasing the song earlier in the week, fast-rising Memphis rapper BlocBoy JB officially unveiled his new song and video with Drake this week titled, “Look Alive.” This stemming from a trip back in January, when the 6 God flew down to Memphis to spend a few days with BlocBoy after the young rapper began gaining some buzz around his two respective bangers, “Rover” and “Shoot.”
