MF DOOM Enlists Distortedd for Trippy, Animated "One Beer" Video
It even comes with its own T-shirt.
18 years ago today, MF DOOM partnered with Rhymesayers to deliver a critically-acclaimed album known as Mm.. Food. A 15-track, mostly-self-produced LP, Mm.. Food featured contributions from Madlib, Count Bass D, Mr Fantastik, staHHR and 4ize and stands as its creator’s fifth full-length studio album. Now, revisiting the project for its 18th anniversary, DOOM decides to serve up a visual for Mm.. Food composition “One Beer.”
Put together by Philadelphia-native visual artist, animation alchemist and illustrator Distortedd, the video for “One Beer” is an animated effort that takes viewers on a psychedelic, cartoonish whirlwind through mushrooms, hallucinatory beverages, explosions, action figures, UFOs and more.
“Dream come true. I collaborated with the GOAT, my favorite artist/best artist of all time,” Distortedd (real name Anhia Zaira Santana) shared via Instagram, expressing her DOOM fandom. “Cop one before it’s too late. DOOMSDAY.”
Adding more fuel to the fire that surrounds today’s visual release, MF DOOM and Distortedd have also came together for a collaborative graphic tee drop based on their video together. That item is a limited to only 500 T-shirts, and features graphics from the “One Beer” vignette.
